(Neb.)-Eagles drop two at Regis
DENVER – The Chadron State College softball team lost two games in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader to Regis University.
The Eagles, now 14-20 overall and 12-15 in conference, lost to Regis 4-3 in the first game and 6-1 in the second.
In the opening game the Eagles scored a run in the sixth inning to tie the score at 3-3 and send the game to extra innings.
With neither team getting anything going in the seventh and eighth innings, the Rangers finally broke the stalemate in the bottom of the ninth to win the opening game.
Katie Londo led the way for the Eagles as she had three of the Eagles’ nine hits while also finishing with an RBI.
Aryn Grywusiewicz pitched eight solid innings, allowing nine hits and three runs on the day.
In the second game the Eagles struggled getting anything going offensively and finished with four hits and left 11 runners on base.
Rebecca Wetsch led the Eagles with two hits.
Chadron State will host Colorado Mines for their last home games this Saturday.
