(Neb.)-Chadron golfers place fifth in Sidney
The Chadron boys golf team finished in fifth place at the Sidney Invite on Wednesday.
The Cardinals were led by Calen Johnson, who shot a 90 on the difficult Sidney course.
"Calen played well in our #1 position, he let a few shots get away from him but did good for not playing the course before," coach Randy Burk said. "All the guys let a few get away today, and that's what we will be working on in the next few days, we are seeing that saving just a few shots by everyone can help us move up in the team standings."
Matt Lordino was three shots behind Johnson with a 93. Keenan Johnson finished with 95, Jayden Stack shot a 99 and Colin Deines rounded out Chadron's scoring with 101.
Scottsbluff won the team title by placing four golfers in the top seven. Andrew Holloway shot a 74 for the Bearcats to win the individual title.
The Chadron JV squad placed third, led by Nate Toof's 99, which was good for a ninth place medal.
The team's next action will be Tuesday at the Mitchell Invite.
