(Neb.)-Graham finishes ninth in 60 meters
BIRMGINHAM, Ala. – Chadron State College’s Alex Graham ran the preliminaries of the 60 meters in 6.82 seconds but the junior from St. Leonardo, Jamaica, narrowly missed on qualifying for the finals of the event Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division II National Championships at the CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
Graham ran the third-best time in his heat and the ninth-best overall but only the top eight times advance to Saturday’s finals.
Dario Horvat of Grand Canyon ran the 60 in 6.69 seconds to post the day’s best time. Jonathan Farquarshon ran it in 6.81 to just push Graham, a 2012 All-American indoors, out of the top eight.
Chadron State’s Alyssa Norton also competed Friday in the shot put but the junior from Rushville was unable to record a mark in the sector after scratching on all three of her attempts.
