The Chadron girls basketball team overcame poor shooting to win at Alliance Thursday, 46-24.

The Lady Cardinals had one of their lowest scoring outputs of the season, but played tough defense to build a 16 point lead at halftime, 32-16. Alliance was never able to close the deficit to less than 12 as Chadron pulled away for the 22 point win.

Peyton Hinn led Chadron with 15 points including making seven free throws in a row after missing the first seven she shot.

The Chadron boys were unable to find a rhythm all night, losing to the Bulldogs, 51-31.

The Cardinals were down by just eight at halftime, 23-15, but were outscored by 12 in the second half to turn the game into a blowout.

Matt Lordino was Chadron's leading scorer with 12 points, nine of which came in the second half. Spencer Eliason pulled down 19 rebounds, but was held to just 11 points.

Both teams are on the road again Friday night at Gering.
