(Neb.)-Chadron girls suffer first loss of the season
The Chadron girls basketball team struggled all night Friday, losing at St. Thomas More, 64-43.
Chadron got off to a slow start, falling behind 10-2 in the first quarter. The Lady Cardinals pulled even, but were never able to take the lead. A three pointer by Peyton Hinn made it a one point game at half time, 22-21.
That was as close as Chadron would get. Sophomore Alexys Swedlund was red hot for the Cavaliers and scored eight consecutive points to start the third quarter. St. Thomas More led by double digits most of the second half. Swedlund finished the game with 31.
The Lady Cardinals will have five days off for Christmas and return to action in the Chadron Rotary Tournament Dec. 28 against Hemingford.
