Regis turns back CSC, 73-49
DENVER – Ten Regis University players found the scoring column and the Rangers used a big second half to turn back Chadron State 73-49 in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game Saturday evening in Denver.
The two teams played a close first half – the Eagles shot 42 percent from the field while Regis connected on 36 percent of its shots to secure a 32-28 lead at halftime – but the final 20 minutes belonged to the Rangers as they made 15 of 29 field goal attempts while the Eagles finished just nine of 27.
Regis’ Sarah Feeney scored a game-high 21 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Rangers to their third win of the season. Although Feeney was the only Regis player to score in double figures, six others scored at least six points and Brandi Collins dished out 12 assists.
Kattie Ranta led Chadron State with 17 points and Dallas Shaw finished with 12. Ranta hit eight of 11 from the field and added four rebounds, three steals and three assists while Shaw was responsible for all three of Chadron State’s made 3-pointers.
Chadron State will play at Metro State Sunday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
