(Neb.) - Pilkington, Kurtz placed on RMAC All-Academic Women’s Golf Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State’s Emilee Pilkington and Ashley Kurtz were selected to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Women’s Golf First and Second Teams, the conference announced Tuesday.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institutions.
Pilkington, a sophomore from Scottsbluff, is on the first team, while Kurtz, a senior from Valentine, is on the second team.
Pilkington was the Eagles’ top golfer in the fall and spring. She averaged 87.7 strokes per round and recorded seven of the team’s top 10 rounds this season. She has a 3.86 GPA in music education.
Kurtz, who has a 3.65 GPA in elementary education, was on the RMAC Honor Roll last season. She shot just over 100 per round during RMAC play this season but carded her best round of 89 during the conference championship last month in Arizona.
In addition to Pilkington and Kurtz, Chadron State’s Nicole Tlustos and Kinlee Ginn of Hay Springs and Chelsea Murrell of Mitchell were named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
The RMAC Women’s All-Academic Golfer of the Year is Jessica Berve of Colorado Mesa University.
