(Neb.) - Chadron boys golf fights wind in Alliance
ALLIANCE - The Chadron High School boys golf team had an extra challenge in Alliance Saturday at the Skyview Golf Course.
Gusty winds proved tough for the Cardinals.
Chadron was paced on the windy day by Brenton Bauerkemper and Alec Burk, who both shot an 87 on theo afternoon. Hunter Hageman carded a 90 for the Cardinals, while Colin Deines scored a 99 and Josh Wild shot a 102.
Chadron head golf coach Jeff Nemecek said the team is getting better and needs to make some minor improvements heading towards the end of the season.
"The team improved from last week in McCook. If we can cut down on the penalty strokes we can be right in the mix come districts."
Eli Goff placed seventh in Division II with an 89.
Kimball won the meet by three strokes over Scottsbluff. The individual winner was John Murdock IV of Laramie after winning a one hole playoff with Andrew Holloway of Scottsbluff. The two finished the 18-hole round with a 76.
The Cardinals travel to the Scottsbluff Invite on Monday (April 23), before hosting an invite on Friday.
