AGATE FOSSIL BEDS N.M. - While most National Park Service units observed NPS Rx Day last month as part of National Parks Week, Agate Fossil Beds National Monument is celebrating it today with a wide range of activities on including nature in a healthy lifestyle.

The day begins at 9:00 with a Yoga class, followed at 10:00 by guided meditation, and at 10:30 by a ranger-guided off-trail hike south of the Bone Cabin that will last until noon.

The afternoon has 2 ranger-led expeditions ; a 2-hour backcountry bike ride leaving the visitor center at 1:00 with riders needing to bring their own bike, and a 3 o'clock  hike on the Daemonelix Trail will wrap up the guided activities for the day.

Nurses from the University of Nebraska Medical Center will conduct a Health Fair in the large picnic kiosk from 10:00-2:00 while the AirLink Helicopter will be on hand from 10:00-1:00 with the crew eager to answer questions about Airlink services.

There will be two different "porch talks" in front of the visitor center - Know Your Park Hazards at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30 and Essential Items to Pack For a Hike at  11:30, 1:30 and 3:30
