(Wyo)-UW Transfer Students Up 12%
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming enrolled more than 1,000 new transfer students last fall, a 12.3% increase from 2016. The university is working to boost enrollment and officials say it won't be long before transfers make up half or more of the incoming students.
Many of the fall transfers came from Wyoming's 7 community colleges, not surprising since UW is the only public 4-year college or university in the state and has established a Transfer Success Center to guide transfer students and make their transition from community college to the university smoother.
Transferring in from a 2-year Wyoming school should be even easier in the future as a new state law sets deadlines for development of a common transcript and course numbering system between all the state's public institutions of higher education.
