(Wyo)-Wyo Records First Child Flu Death This Season
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP)- The Wyoming Department of Health has received its first report this season of a flu-related death of a child, but privacy laws prevent the release of details other than the child lived in Fremont County. At least 10 adults have also died in Wyoming because of the flu this season.
State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist says the state continues to see widespread influenza with indications of high activity levels, but she doesn't know if the flu season has peaked yet or for how much longer flu will spread in the state.
Harrist says the report should serve as a sad reminder that influenza can be a serious disease and should not be overlooked as a threat.
