(SD)-Nearly 6 Year Sentence In Sex Trafficking-Child Porn Case
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A Colorado man caught in an undercover sex trafficking sting during the 2016 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has been sentenced to nearly 6 years in federal prison.
25-year-old Levi Drussell of Fort Collins had pleaded guilty to attempting to receive child porn. He'll be on supervised release for 10 years following 5 years and 11 months in prison.
U.S. Attorney for South Dakota Ron Parsons says Drussell was one of 9 men arrested as part the investigation, although he was arrested after the others.
Drussell sent explicit photos of himself to what he believed was an underage girl and repeatedly asked for similar pictures of her, but his communications were all with undercover agents.
The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigations conduct an annual sex trafficking operation in Rapid City at the same time as the Sturgis Rally.
