(Wyo)-Semi Crash On I-80 In Wyo Kills One
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says a collision between 2 semis on Interstate 80 about 20 miles from the Nebraska border near Burns late Sunday morning killed a California man.
32-year-old Anatoliy Yakubovskiy of Rocklin was pronounced dead at the scene with the accident blamed on equipment failure and driver inattention.
The Highway Patrol says Yakubovskiy was eastbound in the right land about 11:30 when he hit the rear of another semi that had pulled over and parked in the emergency lane after experiencing mechanical issues.
Yakubovskiy's truck then crossed both eastbound lanes and went into the median where it overturned and came to rest on the passenger's side.Authorities have not determined if he was wearing his seat belt.
The driver of the other semi, 69-year-old Edward Jones Jr of Dallas, Texas, was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
