(NEB)-Two Arrested In Alliance New Year's Morning Assault
ALLIANCE - Alliance police arrested 2 people on New Year's Day for an alleged assault on a woman early that morning - one for committing the assault and the other for hiding him.
Operations Commander Lt Jake Henion says officers responding to a call of an assault in process at an Alliance residence found that the suspect had already fled.
They were told by the alleged victim and a witness that 27-year-old old Darik Lujan of Alliance had broken into the home and choked the woman, and that Lujan may have had a gun during the incident.
The investigation led police to contact 21-year old McKenzie Pfeiffer about Lujan. Pfeiffer denied knowing his location, but officers heard noises inside the apartment consistent with someone trying to hide.
They entered and found Lujan hiding in the apartment's attic crawl space and arrested him on suspicion of multiple felonies including burglary, strangulation, terroristic threats, felony use of a firearm, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and resisting arrest.
Pfeiffer was also taken into custudy on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony. Both were booked into the Box Butte County Jail.
