(Neb)-Former Omaha Senator New Top Lobbyist For NU
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Former state senator Heath Mello of Omaha has been named chief lobbyist for the University of Nebraska system.
Officially Associate Vice President of University Affairs and Director of State Relations, Mello succeeds Ron Withem - another former senator - who's held the post for 20 years.
Mello is a Democrat who unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Omaha this spring. He term-limited out of the Unicameral with last year's election and has a bachelor's degree in political from UNL.
