(Neb)-Active Phase Of Chadron State Fall Drive Tops $100K
CHADRON - The Chadron State Foundation celebrated the end of the active phase of its annual fall fund drive this week with a victory party at the Holiday Inn Express.
The drive featuring 10 teams of college employees and 10 teams of community members brought in just under $103,000 during the 3-week effort with many more donations expected through the rest of the academic year.
Foundation development officer Jacob Rissler coordinated the drive and says the generosity of the donors is an investment in the future of Chadron State, its students and the region.
The fall fund drive has four volunteer leaders, two each from the campus and community who serve overlapping 2-year terms.
This year's community leaders were Security First Bank president Jason Carnahan and Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services CFO Jennifer Brown while the campus leaders were professor Dr Dawn Brammer and project coordinator Colette Fernandez.
The fall fund drive is a good-natured competition between the teams with points based on such things as new donors, increased giving by past donors, and total donations.
Winning on the community side this year was the team captained by Chadron Community Hospital physical therapist Bobby Griese and including members Connie Blaylock, Tina McLain, Shane Norman, Jordan Raben, and Heather Sayaloune.
Making up the winning Campus team were Lorie Hunn, Sally Katen, Alex and Brittany Helmbrecht, Brenda Barry-Schommer and Kathy Stokey.
