(SD)-Former OST Official Gets Probation In Embezzlement Case
PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) - A district vice chairman of the Oglala Sioux Tribe has been given a sentence of 2 years unsupervised parole after pleading guilty to embezzling from the tribe.
57-year-old Charles Cummings of Martin will also pay $2,500 in restitution...part of a plea agreement reached in August.
Cummings, who was vice-chairman of the LaCreek district, admitted in federal court to stealing from the tribe between December 2015 and January 2016.
