(Neb)-USDA Names Neb State Directors
LINCOLN, Neb. - President Trump has named new state directors for USDA agencies in Nebraska. Karl Elmshaeuser of Ogallala will direct Rural Development and Nancy Johner will serve as the Executive Director for the FSA - Farm Service Agency.
Elmshaeuser is executive director of the West Central Nebraska Development District and lost to Steve Erdman in last year's 47th Legislative District election despite the support of Governor Pete RIcketts.
Johner is CEO for Pathfinder Support Services in Omaha, and a former USDA Undersecretary for Food, Nutrition and Consumers Services. She also headed the Children and Family services division of Nebraska Health and Human Services, and was state director and deputy chief of staff for then-U.S. Senator Mike Johanns
Current Senator and Valentine-area rancher Deb Fischer calls the new state directors "two outstanding Nebraska leaders (who) will be in good positions to promote Nebraska agriculture and effectively communicate the common sense policies our producers and communities need to be prosperous.
She praises Elmshaeuser for "first-rate management and development skills" as well as "a strong passion for building prosperous Nebraska communities," while saying Johner's long career in public service has prepared her to serve Nebraskans well once again .
