(Wyo)-UW Wants To Add Tourism Degree
LARAMIE, WYo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming is looking to add a tourism bachelor's degree program also focusing on natural resource recreation in an effort to help diversify the state's economy.
The school hopes to have the tourism program ready for students next fall and has hired a consultant to develop the curriculum and oversee the establishment of the program even though it's still awaiting approval from the UW Board of Trustees.
The university describes the program as a partnership between its Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources and the College of Business with the goal of supporting Wyoming's economic diversification efforts with highly qualified graduates capable of developing and expanding recreation-tourism businesses throughout the state.
