(Neb)-Chadron High FBLA Has 2 Top 8 Finishes At Nationals

CHADRON - Two Chadron High School FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America - teams finished in the top 8 in the nation in their respective events at the organization's recent 2017 National Leadership Conference.
Keegan Shuck and Corbin Johnson finished 2nd in Banking and Financial Systems while Aubree Noble, Brooklyn Stack, and Hunter Hawk placed 4th in Graphic Design. There were more than 100 competitors in both events.
Shuck and Johnson scored in the top 15 on a 100-question objective test to reach the finals, where they were given a case study relative to banking and financial system with 20 minutes to solve a problem and give a 7-minute presentation to a panel of judges. Their 2nd-place finish brought a cash prize of $600.
Noble, Stack, and Hawk began at nationals by giving a 7-minute presentation of their interpretation of designing a family water park in the semifinals, finishing in the top 2 of their group make the 14-team finals. As the 4th place finishers, they won $200.
The Chadron High FBLA team also had Alyssa Noble reach the finals in Electronic Career Portfolio, while reaching nationals but not making the finals were Daniel Smith in Business Law and the team of Greta Welch, Kaci Waugh and Alison Gardener in Hospitality Management.
The Chadron chapter as a whole earned recognition and honors with a Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit.
The FBLA Leadership Conference attracted more than 12,000 high school members from across the nation and several foreign countries.
It was held in conjuction with the Leadership Conference of the organization's college arm, Phi Beta Lambda, which included a delegation from Chadron State College.
