(Neb)-Two Movies And A Bonfire To Conclude "Trading Stories" Film Festival Listen
CHADRON - The 4th annual Trading Stories Native American Film Festival at the Chadron Public Library ends today with a schedule that includes 2 movies and a campfire-bonfire storytelling time.
Library Director Rosella Tesch says the bonfire-storytelling isn't an activity that normally comes to mind when thinking about a film festival but it's one she is looking forward to.
The day begins at 3:00 with a repeat of one of the movies shown yesterday, the documentary Rumble - The Indians Who Rocked The World, which deals with Native American musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and their influence on contemporary music.
It's followed at 5:00 by She Sings to the Stars, which Tesch describes as conveying powerful messages of transformation, the role women play in society, respecting nature, and discovering different types of magic all around us through the interaction of a Native American grandmother, her Latino grandson, and white magician in top hat and tails.
All the events of Trading Stories are free.
