(Neb)-Only 4 Semifinalists Left For Chadron City Manager Post Listen
CHADRON - The search committee looking for a new city manager for Chadron has completed its interviews of semifinalists, but instead of 5 candidates there were only 4.
The city council had picked 7 semifinalists from the original pool of applicants about a month ago, but one of the 7 withdrew almost immediately and a second followed late last week.
The search committee interviewed two candidates this past Monday and were scheduled to finish with a third on Wednesday and the final 2 yesterday, but Mayor and committee member John Coates says the Wednesday interview never happened.
Coates says he and the other committee members - councilman Mark Werner, city human resources manager Bev Bartlett, and city clerk-interim city manager Donna Rust - will meet next week to pick the 2 finalists for consideration by the full city council.
Coates says the names of the finalists will be released shortly after they're chosen with the city council at its next meeting on the 17th expected to set the schedule for the public meeting interviews of the finalists and for choosing one of the two.
