(AP) - Bond has been set at $500,000 for a Black Hills man charged with wounding another man Sunday night in Rapid City. 48-year old Michael Wisecarver of Piedmont made his first appearance in court Wednesday on a charge of attempted 1st-degree murder.
Wisecarver is accused of shooting Chad Arnold about 10:00 Sunday night. Police say Arnold lay in his Rapid City driveway, paralyzed from the waist down with a bullet lodged in his spine, until 8:00 the next morning when a passer-by who thought he was drunk called authorities.
The First Responders discovered Arnold had been shot and called EMTs, who determined he was paralyzed. No update of his condition has been released. Authorities said they believe Wisecarver and Arnold knew each other.
