(Neb)-Boy Hurt Monday At Lake Minatare Remains Critical
SCOTTSBLUFF - A 9-year-old Colorado boy remains in critical condition in a Denver area hospital with “significant injuries” suffered in a boating accident at Lake Minatare Monday afternoon
. Nebraska Game and Parks Conservation Officer Sean McKeehan was informed of the youth’s condition Wednesday by a family member.
Officials say the boy was injured when he fell off his paddleboard and was run over by his grandfather, who was backing his boat away from a dock by the Lake Minatare lighthouse.
The boy was flown to the Colorado hospital after being treated initially at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
Authorities say alcohol does not appear to have played a role in the accident.
