(Neb)-Another Month Before 3rd St/Hwy 20 Completely Done Listen
CHADRON - The man in charge of the $8.4-million dollar 3rd Street/Highway 20 reconstruction and storm sewer project in Chadron says it should finally be completely done in the next month to 6 weeks.
Prime contractor Paul Reed Construction of Gering completed the drainage and paving last fall, but left some of the sidewalk and stamped concrete landscaping work for the spring.
Over the winter, a number of the concrete paving panels developed cracks, apparently because of conditions when they were poured, and the company has been busy replacing them the past several weeks. Project supervisor Jeff Marks says that work's about done, as are the sidewalks
Marks says Paul Reed Construction appreciates the patience shown by drivers during the process of replacing the cracked concrete panels, which has been closing intersections and forcing lane changes in those areas.
