(SD)-Motorcycle Crash Kills One In Box Elder
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 76-year-old man was killed Friday night when his motorcycle crashed as he tried to enter Interstate 90 at the edge of Box Elder. The man's name has not yet been released.
The Patrol says the man was northbound on Elk Vale Road and turned east on the Interstate 90 exit 61 on-ramp when his Harley Davidson FLD motorcycle failed to negotiate the curve and he was thrown from the bike.
He was wearing a helmet, but still died from his injuries after being taken to Rapid City Regional Hospital.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash while the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Box Elder Police Department, Box Elder Fire Department and Rapid City Fire Department all responded to the accident.
