(Neb)-Lincoln Man Killed In I-80 Work Zone Crash Near Kimball
KIMBALL, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln man was killed Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in the southwest corner of the Panhandle near Kimball.
The Nebraska State Patrol Patrol Lt. Col. Thomas Schwarten says 48-year-old Robert Brunsman was eastbound on I-80 about 4 miles east of Kimball when his SUV crashed around 1:35 p.m. Brunsman was not was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.
Schwarten says the Patrol's investigation found that Brunsman drove around construction barriers and continue eastbound on a closed part of the roadway, then left the pavement to the right, hit a concrete bridge pillar and rolled.
