(Neb)-NSP Asking Public For Info In Dawes/Sioux Ranchland Fraud Case

By: John Axtell Posted at: 04/14/2017 04:04 PM
CHADRON - The Nebraska State Patrol is asking the public for more information about two Dawes County women arrested in February in a fraud scheme that has them facing trial in Dawes and SIoux counties on 15 felony counts.

Kelley Haller of Chadron and Calinda Barthel of Crawford, also known as Calinda Vantine, were arrested February 17 following a State Patrol investigation into allegations that the women committed theft by leasing pastureland with alleged victims in Wyoming, Oklahoma, and South Dakota as well as Nebraska.

State Patrol investigator Keith Drinkwalter is asking anyone who was ever contacted by Barthel or Heller about leased pastureland to contact either him at (308)432-6131 or the Sioux County Attorney’s office at (308) 668-2466.
