(Meb)-Red Cross Month In Neb Proclamation Kicks Off Centennial Listen
LINCOLN - Governor Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore helped the American Red Cross kickoff its centennial birthday celebration yesterday, signing a proclamation declaring March as American Red Cross Month in Nebraska.
Ricketts told a news conference at the State Capitol that the Red Cross has been vital to Nebraska in big ways and small for 100 years.
Red Cross Regional CEO Jill Orton said the impact of Nebraska Red Cross volunteers has been felt everywhere, from rural Nebraska to nations around the world.
The Red Cross is holding events across the state to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of the thousands of Nebraska volunteers and donors, and Orton extended an invitation to everyone to not only take part in them, but to also join the Red Cross as a volunteer or donor
