(Neb)-"Body In A Barrel" Sentencing Monday
GERING - The postponed sentencing of the man convicted in Morrill County's "body in a barrel" murder case will finally take place on Monday.
25-year-old Zachary Mueller of Bridgeport faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced at 3:00 by District Judge Leo Dobrovolny for 1st-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony.
Mueller was convicted following a week-long trial of the drug-related death of Pedro Dominguez of Greeley, Colorado, whose body was found December 4th, 2015, in a sealed barrel floating in a creek east of Bayard.
The key testimony came from Felicia Talley, the victim's girlfriend, who said Mueller shot Dominguez while the three were riding in a car south of Bridgeport 11 days before the body was found after the 3 of them had been smoking methamphetamine.
