(Neb)-Scottsbluff Homicide Investigation Continues
SCOTTSBLUFF - Scottsbluff Police are continuing to investigate the apparent homicide of a woman whose body was found Tuesday morning in an apartment complex on the east side of the city.
Scottsbluff Police Chief Kevin Spencer says police responded at 9 a.m. and found the body of 48-year old Melissa May in an apartment other than her own. As of last evening, police had not been able to contact the actual renter.
Spencer says evidence at the scene led investigators to the conclusion that May's death was a homicide and not a suicide, but he would not speculate on a cause of death...saying only that May probably died over the weekend.
No arrests have been made and Spencer says officers spent nearly all of yesterday at the scene gathering evidence and will return today for more interviews, including with other residents of the complex.
He also says search warrants have been requested for locations other than the apartment where the body was found.
Spencer says anyone with information on the case may call Scottsbluff Police at 632-7176 or Crimestoppers at 632-STOP.
