(Neb.)-Governor Heineman Does Ice Bucket Challenge
(Lincoln, Neb.)-Gov. Dave Heineman has accepted the “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” to help raise awareness for the devastating disease. First Lady Sally Ganem doused the Governor with ice water in front of the Governor’s Residence in Lincoln. Additionally, Gov. Heineman donated $100 to the cause through The ALS Association’s Nebraska Chapter.
“I’m glad to be able to help raise awareness for the individuals struck with this devastating disease,” said Gov. Heineman. “I hope others will join the challenge to learn more about ALS as we continue to seek a cure.”
Gov. Heineman was challenged by Iowa Governor Terry Branstad; University of Nebraska-Lincoln volleyball head coach John Cook; and Nebraska Television (NTV) in Kearney news anchor Marylyn Barnett.
In turn, Gov. Heineman is challenging the following individuals to complete the ice bucket challenge: Publisher of the World-Herald Terry Kroeger; KETV in Omaha news anchor Rob McCartney; and KFAB on-air personality, and “Governor Dave” impersonator, Jim Rose.
