(Wyo.)-Wyoming Voters Heading To The Polls Today
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming voters are heading to the polls Tuesday to cast votes for offices ranging from governor down to the most humble county and municipal posts.
With registered Republicans outnumbering Democrats better than 2 to 1 in Wyoming, primary results are often the last word in state politics.
Tuesday's main event is the GOP primary for governor. Matt Mead is seeking a second term and faces challengers Dr. Taylor Haynes and Cindy Hill, the Wyoming superintendent of public instruction.
Democrat Pete Gosar faces no opposition in Tuesday's gubernatorial primary. He's a pilot for the state who stepped down as Wyoming Democratic Party chairman early this summer to run.
Polls close at 7 p.m.
