(Neb.)-Skip Chubb Appointed As The New Crawford City Council Member
(Chadron)-Skip Chubb is the new Crawford City Council member.
The Crawford City Council, with a 3 to 0 vote, appointed Chubb as the north ward city council member. He was sworn in by city clerk Jane Dailey Tuesday night at the Crawford City Council meeting. Bill Stolldorf was the other man vying for the position.
In other business, the Crawford City Council approved official notification of a residency violation at 209 Elm Street which is the Old City Hall Mall. The individual is residing in a commercial building. The board will send a notice and ask for it to be corrected, per City Ordinances. The board passed this on a 2 to 1 vote.
The council also approved a brand new security system for city hall which will cost $2,250. It is a safety issue for the women who work there. The board passed this on a 2-1 vote. The board also approved an estimate for demolition of the old sewer plant. Completion of this project will start next week and finish next week
Krista Pedrick and Willetta Hamar presented a proposal of remedy for sewer problem at 1017 Third Street to the board Tuesday evening. There have been a lot of sewer problems including $3,000 worth of damage to the basement. After she had the damage, Hamar will pay for a new line out to the alley.
The board also voted to close the city pool as of Tuesday, except for weekends if lifeguards are available. The pool will be winterized Labor Day weekend.
