(Neb.)-Dawes County Fair Features Swine, Sheep, Tough Truck Show
(DAWES COUNTY)-The Dawes County Fair continues today (Wednesday) at the Dawes County Fairgrounds north of town. Flower show entries were accepted this morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. in the Henkens Roberts building, and the swine show took place at 9:00 a.m. in the show barn. At 10:00 a.m., the open floral challenge contest and open class flower show were held in the Henkens Roberts building, and from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. the 4-H Xavix Healthy Lifestyle Interactive Games will be held in the 4-H building. The afternoon will also feature the 4-H sheep show at 1:00 p.m. in the show barn.
Get ready for some tough truck action this evening. Tough Truck registration will take place in the arena starting at 5:00 p.m., and in lieu of the hot dog eating contest, which was scheduled for 5:30 p.m., everyone is invited to come by the grandstand area for free root beer floats, sponsored by Security First Bank. The Tough Truck show will get underway at 6:30 p.m.
There are plenty of exhibits to see at this year’s fair, as well as lots of great livestock to view. You can also stop by the Lions’ Club kitchen for a hot beef sandwich or a hamburger or visit one of the other food vendors for a great meal while hanging out at the fair.
