(Neb.)-Commissioners Approve Road Plans For Dawes County
(Chadron)-The Dawes County Commissioners approved the 1 and 6 Year Road Plans at their meeting on Wednesday morning at the Dawes County Courthouse. County Road Superintendent Larry Hankin presented the plans to the Board for their approval so it could then be submitted to the State.
There have been some changes in the plans since the last time they were reviewed. Hankin said on the 6 Year Plan, three bridge projects were deleted, and one was altered. The deleted projects include the Redfern Bridge on Mansfield Road, a bridge on Brown Road by the Witte home, and a bridge on Bethel Road by Toad Smith’s home. The Bethel Road bridge will be able to be repaired. None of these projects had been through a hydraulic study, which is the reason for the deletion from the plan. Another project, the Lemmon Bridge Detour, will not workout according to Hankin. He said they will look at fixing the bridge under maintenance.
For the one year plan, a project was added. The South Bridge on Bethel Loop Road will be replaced with culverts according to the new plan. In total, four bridges are included on the four year plan, and four are included on the 6 year plan. No public comment was received on the plans, and the Board unanimously approved the resolution accepting the plan.
