(Neb.)-Chadron City Council To Meet Monday Evening

(CHADRON)-The Chadron city council will convene for a regularly scheduled meeting Monday evening at City Hall council chambers, 234 Main Street in Chadron. On the agenda, a resolution to approve the final plat for the Maverik Addition in the 400 block of Ash Street, and the third and final reading of an ordinance to create a paving district for Ash Street from Highway 20 north approximately 710 feet as well as a resolution to set a public hearing date in connection with the creation of the paving district. Also on the agenda, a plan to schedule a special city council meeting for the presentation of Phase I of the Downtown Revitalization Plan by Urban Development Services and the authorization of an application to the Neb. Department of Economic Development for grant assistance from the civic and community center financing fund in connection with the proposed swimming pool project.
 
The council will hold a public hearing and consider a motion regarding an appeal for denial of an application for a special use permit for a day care at 532 Cedar Street. They will also discuss the purchase of a new half-ton crew cab 4x4 pickup truck for the parks/cemetery department, recommend the award of bid for the excavation and embankment project at the waste water treatment facility, and approve plans and specifications for the water main extension project on West Niobrara Avenue from North Mears Street to North Main Street and north to Belle Fourche Avenue, as well as authorizing notice to bidders.
 
Also at the meeting, the council will decide whether to approve the final progress estimate for Buettner Construction for the sanitary sewer extension district, the Wood’s Lift Station replacement from Linden Street to Stockade Road. A public hearing will be held regarding whether or not to amend the 2013-2014 Fiscal Year Budget to transfer dollars from the cash reserve to the contingent reserve account. An ordinance to that effect will follow.
 
The council will also receive various reports and be introduced to two new city employees, dispatcher Trevor Jacobson and assistant library director Susan Rolfsmeier.
 
The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and is open to the public. It will also be broadcast on Great Plains local access channel 19 and live streamed online by visiting livestream.com/cityofchadron or the city’s Web site at chadron-nebraska.com and click on the link at the top right of the home page.
