(Neb.)-Ice Storm Interrupts Telephone Service

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 10/30/2013 09:56 AM

(Crawford)-Winter weather is once again wreaking havoc in the KCSR/KBPY listening area, but in a different manner than was experienced at the beginning of the month. According to Karl Bieber with Century Link, an ice storm north of Harrison has caused power outages and impacted service for exchanges in the area.

Bieber said that Century Link technicians are working to have power – and services - restored as quickly as possible. However, that is causing problems with people trying to get a hold of the Dawes County Sheriff’s office in Crawford.

Service has been unavailable to the office in Crawford for much of the morning, so Deputies are asking people to call the Chadron office number if they need assistance. That number is 308-432-3025. Once telephone service is restored, we will pass that information along to our listeners.
