(Neb.)-Pink Power Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run Fundraiser Saturday  Listen

(CHADRON)-There is a Pink Power community event and fundraiser taking place in Chadron on Saturday. The day will feature a 5K walk/run and lots of other fun activities. Cheyenne Wilson, owner of the Cowgirl Swank store and host of the Pink Power event, explains how she got the idea for a walk/run.

Wilson said the race and the entire day, which celebrates breast cancer survivors, is not just for women, but for the whole family.

There will also be sales on merchandise at Cowgirl Swank, goodies and fun activities for the kids, and a donation-based lunch. Wilson says the entry fee for the walk/run is $5, all of which will be donated to money being raised for a local breast cancer survivor.

Another way Wilson is hoping to raise money is through a raffle for a cedar beverage cooler.

Activities will be taking place at Cowgirl Swank from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Registration for the walk/run starts at 10:00 a.m., and the race will commence at 11:00 a.m. Wilson says she has GPS-ed the course that is set to begin and end at the store, which is located just off Hwy. 385 about two miles south of Chadron.
