(Wyo.)-Bills Seek To Help Wyoming Game And Fish Funding
CASPER, Wyo. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - A legislative committee is considering bills to provide additional revenue sources for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
One bill proposes raising the price of hunting and fishing licenses by 10 percent. The other asks the Wyoming Legislature to pay for elk feedgrounds, grizzly bear management and Game and Fish employee health insurance out of the state general fund.
The measures are before the Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee. Dozens of people have told the committee they support efforts to help Game and Fish.
The Legislature voted against license fee increases last winter. Game and Fish cut its budget in response.
Game and Fish has allowed some jobs to go unfilled and has cut back on certain programs.
