(Wyo.)-Torrington Man To Challenge Rep. Lummis In GOP Primary

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 10/21/2013 09:43 AM
CASPER, Wyo. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - A 35-year-old corrections officer from Yoder says he will challenge U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis in next year's Republican primary.

Jason Senteney has no political experience.

He works at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington. He was born and raised in Torrington and is a veteran of the Marine Corps and a volunteer firefighter.

     Senteney says
he plans on centering his campaign on the middle class workers of Wyoming, such as coal miners and oil field workers.

For instance, he supports legislation that would urge the nation's manufacturing sector to reel jobs back from overseas. And he's critical of Lummis' support for federal budget cuts.

     Lummis declined to comment.
