(S.D.)-South Dakota State Fair Ends Five-Day Run In Huron
HURON, S.D. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - Final numbers won't be in for a while, but it appears unseasonably warm weather didn't have too much of an effect on attendance at the South Dakota State Fair.
The fair wrapped up its five-day run in Huron Monday. Manager Jerome Hertel says that last week's heat might have stopped some fairgoers from coming out during the day, but once the sun went down attendance picked up. He says a Saturday night concert by the Eli Young Band and Casey Donahew Band even broke records for the fair.
One big change for the fair this year was restrictions on golf carts. Hertel says he got a lot of comments from people who appreciated "not having to look over their shoulder and worry about a golf cart" running into them.
