(S.D.)-Red Cross Helps Storm Victims On Pine Ridge
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - The Black Hills Red Cross says it has assisted 21 people who were displaced by a possible tornado that hit the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in western South Dakota.
The Red Cross says two homes were destroyed and four others were damaged Friday evening.
In eastern South Dakota, a severe thunderstorm damaged two Sioux Falls businesses Saturday night.
The Sioux Falls Fire Department says lightning struck the Target store in the Empire Mall, tearing a hole in the roof and breaking a couple of gas lines. The storm also damaged a loading dock at the nearby J.C. Penney store.
Hail also smashed the windows of cars parked in the area. The state's Outdoor Campus was closed Sunday because of broken windows and fallen trees.
