(S.D.)- School of Mines opens mobile computing lab
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology has opened a mobile computing lab.
KOTA television reports that the new program open to juniors and seniors aims to keep students on the cutting edge of handheld technology.
Grad student Ross Hoyer thinks the new lab will give School of Mines students a leg up on the competition.
Mitchell-based Innovative Systems provided more than $25,000 in support of the lab with additional donations from Golden West and CHR Solutions.
Course curriculum developer Brian Butterfield from Innovative Solutions says it's good for students to be exposed to the mobile industry. They must be exposed to challenges such as form factor size, battery power, computing power and connectivity.
