(Neb.)-Fur Trade Regatta Offering Business Division Again
(Chadron)-Most of the events for the Chadron Fur Trade Days Celebration will be over by Sunday afternoon, which makes it the perfect time for a great family activity at Chadron State Park. The annual Kiwanas Regatta will be taking place at 2 pm Sunday at the Chadron State Park pond.
Back by popular demand this year is the Business Division. Two employees from the registered businesses will race in timed heats, with the top two times racing for the top prize. Employees must be 16 or older, and there is an entry fee of $5 per person. Winners will be awarded “The Paddle,” which is a traveling trophy that businesses can display.
The Open Division is open to everyone, with registration on the day of the event, and a $5 entry fee per person. Registration will be from 1:30-1:50 that afternoon, and a traveling trophy will be awarded to the winners. For the last several years, the husband and wife team of Chris and Julie Garrett has received the top honors. Anyone who thinks they can knock the Garretts out of their top spot is welcome to come give it a shot!
Children’s paddle boat races will also be taking place that day. Even if people don’t want to participate, it is always a fun activity to watch, and there are many other things to enjoy at the State Park as well.
