By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 07/11/2013 12:00 PM

(CHADRON)-Fur Trade Days brings a variety of events and activities to the Chadron area and is a highlight of the summer for many people. For car enthusiasts, the fifth annual Classic Car Show will be held on Saturday, July 13th. Ken Korte, who is one of the organizers of the show, says the event, which is hosted by the Chadron Corvette Club and the Chadron Chamber of Commerce, is moving to a new location this year, but promises to be just as fun as previous years.

For those wishing to enter a car in the show, pre-registration is encouraged and appreciated. The cost is $15, and for non-judged vehicles the cost is $5. Korte explains the difference between the two.

The registration fees help cover printing costs and other expenses associated with putting on the car show as well as making a donation to young people attending the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C.
This year’s judging will be done by those who’ve entered a vehicle. Korte says they tried that out last year, and it seemed to work well. There are nine different vehicle classes that participants can enter this year as well as a best of show that will encompass all classes and will be the top prize. Classes are as follows:
--Cars 1955 and older
--Cars 1956-1969
--Cars 1970-1989
--Cars 1990 and up
--Corvette – All years
--Trucks Pre 1960
--Trucks 1960-1989
--Trucks 1990 and up
Korte explains which entries are anticipated for the unfinished category.
