(SCOTTSBLUFF)–Thanks to Regional West Laboratory Services phlebotomists, histologists, cytologists, lab techs, and other staff, the Festival of Hope has an extra $2,605 to share with regional cancer patients and their families. The Festival of Hope is a grassroots fundraising event organized by volunteers to provide assistance to local cancer patients and their families.
The lab staff raised the money with their annual bake sale and 50/50 raffle held at Regional West Medical Center before Easter.
Laboratory Services staff recently presented the money to Dr. Vincent Bjorling, a Festival of Hope volunteer.
“This is our way to give back,” said Laboratory Services Assistant Director April Madden. “We are involved with cancer patients by diagnosing tests, but this is our way to help even further.”
The Festival of Hope will be held June 15th at the Scotts Bluff County Event Center in Mitchell. For information about activities and entertainment, visit www.festivalofhope.net.
