(S.D.)-Rapid City Rollover Claims One Life
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - One person was killed and six others injured in a two-vehicle crash that shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 in southwestern South Dakota for about an hour.
The Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Kristian Sateren, of Sturgis, was pronounced dead at the scene between Rapid City and Black Hawk on Tuesday afternoon. He was one of two people thrown from a van transporting people with disabilities when it rolled into the median after trying to change lanes and colliding with a car.
The van's driver and four other passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to a Rapid City hospital. The car's driver also was taken to the hospital with what the patrol says were less-serious injuries.
