(Neb.)-Chadron Cardinal Singers To Perform Les Miserables, Preview Tonight
(Chadron)-Chadron Public School students are undertaking a daunting task with their most recent musical production. According to CHS Principal Jerry Mack on his blog page at chadronschools.org, the musical Les Miserables has only been performed by high schools in Nebraska in the Lincoln and Omahaarea until now.
The musical is set in 19th Century France, post French Revolution. Mack said the production focuses strongly on hope and compassion, with the characters of the show rising above the circumstances they must endure. The CHS Cardinal Singers perform music from Les Miserables for their competition set, and received a gold at the Best of the West Show Choir competition in Scottsbluff earlier this year.
Les Miserables runs April 26-28, 7:00pm all three nights. Admission is 5$ for adults and 4$ for students and seniors, with a special preview Friday April 19th , 7:30 at the Bean Broker. The production not only features CHS students, but some students from Chadron Middle School are also involved in the musical.
