(Neb.)-Symposium To Address Fire Recovery
(Crawford)-University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension offices in Dawes and Sioux Counties are sponsoring a symposium on May 6, covering green pasture drought recovery. The symposium will be held at the Crawford Community Hall, and landowners impacted by fire in Dawes, Sioux and Sheridan Counties are encouraged to attend.
Four presenters will address such topics as using electric fences to get back into operation after the fires, important considerations when limit feeding cows in dry lot, a 5-year planning tool for cow/calf drought decisions, and four steps to skillful grazing management using the cumulative forage reduction index.
The symposium will feature a lunch and pre-registration is required by May 2 at 4 pm. Those wishing to pre-register or gain more information can call the Dawes County Extension Office at 432-3373, or the Sioux County Office at 668-2428.
